Russell Tries Hard But Fails, Gujarat Wins By 8 Runs
It is Match Number 35 at the Dr. D Y Patil Stadium between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans. The toss was won by the Titans and they opted to bat first. There were only 1 changes in for the Gujarat Titans Hardik Pandya came in for Vijay Shankar and there were three changes for the Knight Riders as Rinku Kumar gets his 1st chance for this season and Sam Billings and Tim Southee came back to the squad.
The innings did not start of well for the Gujarat Titans as Shubham Gill fell just for 7 runs. Hardik Pandya came at number 3 and build a 75 runs partnership. Hardik went on to score his 3rd consecutive 50 this season. Russell came to bowl the 20th over and took 4 wickets giving away just 5 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders came into bat and things did not seem to go well for them as wickets failed at a regular interval. A partnership was building around Rinku Singh and Venkatesh Iyer but they could not help the team get par the score. In came Andre Russell who put in all his efforts scoring 48 in just 25 balls and gave a slight hope that things could have gone in for KKR. But eventually he got out in the last over and also the dreams of winning the match were shattered. They fell short of 8 runs and Gujarat Titans won the match.
